Orange Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
  • 2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 head broccoli
  • Sesame seeds
  • Rice

Instructions

  1. 1.Create marinade by combining baking soda, salt, 2 tbsp orange juice, 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce, pepper, 1 tbsp corn starch, 2 garlic cloves, and 1 tsp ginger in a bowl. Marinate the chicken for a few hours.
  2. 2.In a different bowl, combine 1/3 cup orange juice, 1 tbsp soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili garlic sauce, 1/2 tbsp corn starch, orange zest, 4 garlic cloves, 1 tsp ginger, chili flakes, brown sugar, and salt to taste.
  3. 3.Heat the oil in a large pan and cook the chicken until no longer pink. Add the sauce and simmer until thick, about 5 minutes.
  4. 4.Steam the broccoli and add to the chicken. Sprinkle green onions and sesame seeds over everything and serve over rice.
